the much overdued pichas of japan. (some). just looking at the pics brings back fond memories. ^^
im kinda bored at home now cause im late for work. overslept, so im taking the afternoon shift. (:
and being bored, i decided to do those stuffs i have been putting aside for now. ooh.. p.s. i love you ost is super nice. have been listening to it for these few days. super nice.
anyways. hot topic everywhere now. that ji guy,is Mas Selamat, who escaped from his detention centre on wednesday and yet to be found.
he is the leader of singapore ji network.
seriously, thanks to his escape and the manhunt that follows, we singaporeans are more aware of the ji's terrorism that puts the world in fear and has since put all singaporeans for full alert for suspicious people and items.
i have never heard of singapore ji's network and the Gurkhas.
just some background information about the Gurkhas.
Gurkha soldiers -- widely regarded as the most fearsome fighters in the world -- are on the front line in the city-state as Singapore clamps down on Islamic militancy in the wake of the September 11 attacks on the United States.
The soldiers, raised in the foothills of the Himalayas and recruited by the Singapore police, have seldom been in the public eye here although their contingent has been based on the wealthy island for more than 50 years.
In the 1950s and 1960s, Gurkhas helped quell racial riots, strikes and trades union disputes in Singapore and won praise for their ability to bring calm and be impartial in any dispute.
Such turbulent times are long gone in Singapore, but with tension high in the wake of the September attacks and the discovery of a plot to attack targets in Singapore, the Gurkhas are replacing local policemen at some of Singapore's most sensitive buildings.
These include the US embassy and the American Club -- both the target of a foiled bombing plot by a regional Islamic group -- as well as the huge Jurong island petrochemical complex and Changi international airport.
as much panic that had already seeped to people's heart since the news of such notorius criminal has broke out and now at large, it is still comforting to know that these special and empowering contingent of soldiers, Gurkhas, has been on the frontline all the well. i still believe singapore armed forces and police force is still doing an awesome job. just based on their quick reflex to comb the area immediately after they found out mas selemat has escaped from the centre, they ought to be applaud.
they are the ones who managed to keep the city safe all these while, and i hope they will continue to do soon, and that the mas selemat guy will be nabbed soon and kept behind bars.
