yesterday was my special day, 18th year on this EARTH, and like i said, it was embarrassingly fun. :D
my day started off at midnight, when
josiah, junwei, aloysius and my bff audrey ong came over, and surprised me at my doorstep. they seemed to forget that i have a dog, rang the doorbell, which led to frosty incessant barking, and woke my parents up. but, im not complaining. in fact, the surprise, well, it was unexpected obviously, and really good, despite me being all sleepy from the day out with the guides people. then, supper followed.
next morning, i went to meet my parents at the hokkien/chinese side, so we can go service together. and there, i received alot alot of birthday blessings and prayers. every 2 step we took, we have to stop to chat with at least 2-3 people, whom my mummy proudly announced that it was my birthday yesterday. and in a churchy environment, we know what happened. once again, im not complaining. :D
went for second service, and came out after-which, to be utterly flabbergasted.
from a distance when i walked out of the gallery, i saw weixuan bobbing up and down with a big sign, that has my name, and a handful of unglam pictures( revenge, cherrie? ). you bet it attracted a lot of attention from all the church-goers who went overflow room at gallery west, which still mount up to hundreds and thousands. i cant say im not surprised, i really was, in an embarrassingly good way. so a big big thanks to those who came,
charis, cherrie, weixuan, siling, jerome, shiyun, stevey, alvin, fu lin, and daryl.:D
the fun or should i say, embarrassing moments, continued when i met up with
junwei, peiwen and josiah, carrying that big elmo balloon that sings. i knew it was just having a taste of what josiah had on his birthday. ( THAT ROCK N ROLL SONG IS SO MUCH LESS IRRITATING THAN MY ELMO'S). now thinking back, you guys really had a way with buying time!
and when the time is ripe, i was whisked off to take cab, to nowhere land, for me, when they blindfolded me, with josiah's smelly towel, and blast music from ipod into my ears. the lights came on, after they took off the folds, i knew i was right, botanical gardens. the waterfall sounds and the kids' shoutings were give-aways clues. poppers, party sprays, bubbles were the essential tools to give a blindfolded person a huge surprise. and the tool holders then were,
valerie, alastair, josiah, peiwen, junwei, audrey and yiling who joined later.
spent the afternoon there, stuffing grapes into our mouths, chatting, blowing bubbles, playing with kids, frisbeeing, putting on disappearing acts, rolling downhill and taking a lot a lot of pictures. the mexican live band and good weather added vibrant finishing touches to the whole picnic session. it was also when, that alastair had a heroic moment, saving the balloons.
can we have another picnic like this again? ((:
night came, and we headed to dempsey for dinner. and dinner was at PS restaurant. the food wasn't very fantastic, but the ambience is really amazing. it feels so cosy, yet elegant, and there's romantic feel to it.
boonyen, and her friend, sherwin, showed up, and then, yiling's boyfriend,
yifeng, and yihang turned up with
kelvin.
:D
there there, the itinerary that was planned wonderfully, by my bff and roomie. :D and also, those who had their parts in planning. you guys made it hard to stop smiling even when i reached home.
as for the presents, just so you know, i love all of them. especially, the album, that will definitely make me smile even years down the road.
i think this the best birthday, with that series of celebrations and surprises, and it's just the way i want to spend it, with family and friends. simple, yet, very enjoyable. and in my opinion, better than wasting my night away at some clubs and pubs. and the club thrill is that, you do it sneakily. :D
told you i love my birthday, the best day of the year.
once again, loves to everyone who made it so special, and those who gave me well-wishes.
-loves n kisses-
